A little more about me...
Growing up, I never had one thing I always wanted to be. But pretty early on I knew it would be something creative. Over the years I wanted to be a writer, an actor, or a director. So by the time senior year came around, I decided to major in Mass Communications with a concentration in Production, hoping to eventually break into the film or TV industry. Besides video production, I always loved social media since I first got my Facebook account in high school. Without knowing it, my passion for social and the internet was leading me toward a career in digital marketing.
My first “real” job was on the Promotions team for iHeartRadio in my hometown of Rochester, New York. As an introvert, I was pushed out of my comfort zone by being upbeat and bubbly to random strangers, asking if they wanted to play games and enter contests. This was my first exposure to the wonderful, fast-paced, and multi-tasking world of social media marketing!
After moving to Albany I was ready to hang up my sneakers and land an office job. After much searching, I came across an opening for a marketing intern position at a local medical practice. After interviewing I was offered a full-time position. I helped grow the practice primarily using organic social media marketing and I learned so much about different facets of marketing that I was inspired to attend grad school to learn even more. I graduated with my Master of Science in Communications with a specialization in Advertising in May 2019 with a 3.8 GPA--one of my proudest accomplishments!
With a year of healthcare experience under my belt I was ecstatic to join the team at healthcare marketing agency Smith & Jones and start my agency journey. Working with the small team was wonderful as I got to learn different skills from each of my colleagues.
In 2020, COVID hit but I stayed strong, applying to marketing jobs both in Albany and remote positions across the country. Finally one day, Overit reached out and the rest was history! My primary jobs at Overit included Marketing and Content Strategist and Account Manager. I AM’ed for OMH (Office of Mental Health), OCFS (Office of Child and Family Services), Historic Deerfield, and Alive at 5. I was a Content Strategist for accounts such as Freihofer’s Run for Women, Nozzle Nolen Pest Solutions, Summit Senior Living, and High Voltage Inc.
But primarily, I ran the marketing for the Overit and Smith & Jones brands, managing social media, email marketing, and content creation including blogs, videos, webinars, events, conferences, and more. I planned over 30 live webinars and events, organically grew our YouTube and TikTok accounts earning tens of thousands of views, traveled all over the country representing Overit and SJ at industry conferences and trade shows, published trends reports for our verticals, along with countless blogs, videos, and social posts.
Almost 10 years into my career and I finally have my first big agency job! I’m excited to bring my skills to the New York Lottery and help expand their digital footprint. I hope to continue to grow my agency experience at MRM/McCann Worldgroup in the future.
Ever Onward! See you out there.
