Smith & Jones
At Smith & Jones I have been lucky enough to create and edit videos promoting our work and for our clients. I created a series of vidoes which converted our written case studies into videos to make them more engaging on social media. Thes vidoes were promtoed via Facebook ads, LinkedIn ads, email, and LinkedIn InMail. I also created video bios for the staff as part of our "Are we a match?" marketing campaign.

Upstate Physician Services
When I first started at Upstate Physicians, my boss felt creating videos would be an important part of our social media strategy. I believe these videos are important because when it comes to health, whether it's fitness, medical aesthetics, or psychiatry, people want to feel comfortable. Featuring staff in these videos show they are real people who want to help make a difference in your life. During my time at Upstate Physicians, I created over 100 original videos with nothing but my phone, a tripod, and my handy MacBook. Click here to see more of my videos.

Practicum In Mass Communications
This class was a newly developed capstone class for Juniors and Seniors. We had several editing projects where we had to create interesting videos out of pre-existing clips while learning Adobe Premiere. We also had to manage the Equipment Cage where Mass Comm students rent out cameras and other equipment for class projects. This class was a great learning experience since I got to work with Premiere and familiarize myself with our new equipment, including DSLR cameras. Below are my projects from the semester, enjoy!

Video Documentary Production
The focus of this class was to learn about documentary filmmaking with the goal to create our own. Once ideas were pitched we separated into groups and worked on our short documentaries throughout the semester. It was definitely one of the most challenging classes I had taken, having to work with not only the other members of my group, but the subjects as well, to create something powerful that got our message across. Our documentary focused on racial profiling in Oneonta. Our main subjects were two professors who have both had a long history of being profiled. We also talked to students, and even the Campus chief of police, whose interview didn't actually make it to the final cut of the film. The experience taught me how much planning goes into making a doc, not to mention the hours of logging and editing. Overall it was an extremely rewarding experience.

Basic Motion Picture Production
This is class is next in the progression after videography and digital editing. We got to write, shoot, and edit our own short film. It was definitely a challenge having to coordinate everything by myself, but the end product was worth it; being able to see my story come to life.

Videography and Digital Editing
This class served as an introduction to shooting and editing. As a sophomore when I took this class I was so excited to finally get my hands on a camera. We had several projects throughout the year to get us familiar with using the equipment and taught us the basics of Final Cut X. For the final project, we were required to make a movie trailer for our own (fictional) movie using clips from other student's projects as well as our own footage.
